No Pants Subway Ride!!

Hundreds of New Yorkers have defied the cold on Sunday when they travel by subway without pants as part of the "No Pants Subway Ride" initiative, held annually in other cities around the world as well.

According to the organization of the initiative, quoted by the EFE agency, the objective is not to offend, but rather to "make others laugh" and have fun.

Participants gathered throughout the afternoon at various meeting points in New York's Brooklyn, Queens and Manhattan districts where they were instructed to disperse in small groups through the city's subway stations and take off their pants for a trip in underwear.

The organizers urged participants to act normally, as if they did not know each other and respond, if someone asked them, that it was a "coincidence" or that they "forgot their pants at home". "We want to give New Yorkers a reason to look up cell phone wallpapers and screens and try something different in their daily routine," said one of the organizers, Jesse Good, in a statement to the local media.

At the end of the trip, which ended in Union Square, participants were invited to celebrate the initiative by drinking a glass in an area bar where the only requirement to enter was "no pants".

The initiative, organized by the Improv Everywhere platform, was held for the first time in 2002 in New York and spanned cities around the world, including London, Prague, Berlin, Warsaw and Milan, among others, who joined today In the 16th edition of the "No Pants Subway Ride".
